I feel like I spend so much time trying to sound all philosophical in these blogs that I forget to actually talk about what I am doing in class. I started this semester not really knowing what to do for IBG. I got lost in photography, then sketching, then sort of found my way back by taking an internship in a theatre company, but that didn't really work out, and finally I settled for Munchies. I guess the simplest way to describe Munchies would be to call it a cookie company with a twist, but it is actually a project that goes way beyond that.
When we started, Frances, Arianna, Emilio and I really had no idea what we were doing. We knew we wanted food, something we could cook, but our minds were clouded by the vast options offered in the culinary world. We wanted sweets, but also salty treats, maybe brownies, maybe tacos (my specialty), but we ended betting our time on cookies. Munchies was born.

We set out roles, this was to be a business not a let's cook for fun event. Frances and I handle marketing, Emilio and Arianna are the cooks (so if you get food poisoning, you know who to sue).
As I said, the simplest way to describe Munchies would be to call it a cookie company with a twist, but seeing it from the inside I can say that it is much more than that. It has been a journey, from working on the recipe (which we stole from a woman named Betty, but shhh), to cooking and failing, and finally to working as an awesome group, where every branch works out organically, mostly because we all like each other (I think. They've probably been planning to kick me out for a while now, but this works as a pity-insurance) and can mix hard work with laughter and a bit of craziness. And that is Munchies, fun.
Have a bit of fun tomorrow in our first ever #MunchiesMonday. Cookies bring smiles! :)
